The Sunset Grille – Now OPEN!
Growing up in Syracuse, New York, Chris Ellison always knew he would like a career where he could use his hands and creativity to provide service to the community. After spending two years in Israel working in a bakery and absorbing the culture, he returned to New York and enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America and embraced his new career with passion. Upon graduation he worked as the Sous Chef at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.
In 2000, Chef Chris moved to Saratoga, New York where he became the Executive Chef at the Sheraton Hotel. While there he received many awards including Saratoga Region Chef of the Year, Sheraton Center of Plate Gold Medal, ACF Silver Medal/Hot Foods, and Sheraton Manager of the Quarter.
Wanting to be closer to his family, Chef Chris moved back to Syracuse to open Kahunaville Restaurant in Carousel Mall (Destiny USA). He then took a hiatus from the culinary world and changed professions to work in healthcare in order to spend time raising his wonderful daughter Elizabeth. Now that she is finishing college in New Mexico he is eager to get back to his career in cuisine.Chef Chris looks forward to providing the Sunset Ridge Golf Club members and community with a delicious culinary experience.
